Install and FAQ

The easiest and fastest way to change pads! Keep your wheel and caliper on.

How do I install my new brake pads?

For questions like this we like to refer to the experts at Park Tools. Check out the video below:

Bed in procedure:

Do one brake at a time (front first if you just replaced front and back)

1) Accelerate to 20-25km/h
2) Slow down with even pressure to a walking speed using just the one brake(don’t come to a complete stop)
3) Repeat 15 to 20 times or until the brake has proper stopping power (this can be done at the top of a long descent)
This will get the pads and rotor up to temperature and starting putting down pad material on the rotor for optimal braking.

Why are my new brake pads lacking power, squealing or vibrating?

You may have contaminants on the rotor, misalignment of the caliper or uneven bedding of your brake pads. If you suspect contaminants or uneven bedding please clean off the rotor with some light sandpaper and clean it with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag to remove contaminants then follow the bedding procedure mentioned above.
