Trail (Blue)

• Designed for: Riders who want quiet brakes straight away
• Bed-in: Quick, about the same as Gravity
• Durability: Wears fastest of the three
• Noise: Our quietest compound
• Feel: Power ramps up as you pull the lever, with the most modulation of the three
• Heat: Insulates the system, keeping heat in the rotor instead of the caliper and fluid
• Rotors: Works on all rotors

Gravity (Green)

• Designed for: Riders who want longer pad life than Trail and a harder bite in the wet
• Bed-in: About the same as Trail
• Durability: Longer lasting than Trail
• Feel: Power ramps up like Trail, with a harder bite in the wet
• Noise: Quieter than Sintered, not quite as quiet as Trail
• Heat: Insulates the system, keeping heat in the rotor instead of the caliper and fluid
• Rotors: Works on all rotors

Sintered (Gold)

• Designed for: Wet and gritty conditions, and year round mileage
• Bed-in: The longest of the three
• Durability: Our longest lasting compound, at the expense of rotor wear
• Noise: The loudest of the three
• Feel: Linear power, consistent through the whole lever stroke
• Heat: Conducts heat into the caliper and fluid, which can soften the lever on long descents
• Note: Please check your rotors are not resin-only rotors. If you need rotors compatible with metallic/sintered pads, click here.

Trail: Kevlar, ceramic, copper and alloy fibres with graphite, in a resin bond. Quietest of the three and quick to bed in. Works on all rotors.

Gravity: The same ingredients as Trail, with more metal fibre. More bite in the wet and longer life than Trail. Works on all rotors.

Sintered: Copper, ceramic, graphite and metal fibre, with no resin. Longest life, best in wet and grit. Not for resin-only rotors. Brake in bursts rather than dragging.

Trail and Gravity carry more Kevlar than a standard organic pad, so they build less heat on long descents and insulate the system.

Who makes them: Loam Goat pads are made in Taiwan. The exact formulas are trade secrets, same as every pad brand.

Not sure you picked the right one? You have 60 days to ride them, then get a refund or swap to a different compound.

• 6 pads in each package
• 4 individual pads for the 4-piston front caliper
• 1 pair (2 pads) for the 2-piston rear caliper
• One order covers both brakes
• Magura MT pads do not use a return spring, so none is included with either end

The Loam Goat Brakes warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of similar product or refund of purchase value only. Warranty does not cover brake noise or normal wear and tear. Some brake pad systems cause pads to wear faster than others.

See our knowledge section for changing pads HERE.
