Brake Pad Compound Guide
Brake Pad Compound Guide
Gravity (Green)
- Designed for: Heavier bikers/riders with longer amounts of braking
- Durability: Longer pad life due to increased metal content - quiet when heated up
- Feel: Excellent bite, stable performance at high temperatures and minimizes heat transfer to the brake fluid
- Compound: Semi-metallic
Sintered (Gold)
- Designed for: Consistent braking in wet and dry conditions
- Durability: Longer lasting at the expense of rotor wear
- Feel: Sharper bite and less modulation - more of an on/off feel
- Note: Please check your rotors are not resin-only rotors. If you need rotors compatible with metallic/sintered pads, click here.
- Compound: Sintered
Trail (Purple)

The break pads work as advertised.
This pair of brake pad works way better than the original set which my son had on his bike.
thanks to Loam Goat for such a great service and unbeatable products.
Great bite. Nice upgrade from the stock pads on my trp spyres. Price is right too.
I was looking for pads for my wife's commuter. I thought I wanted metallic pads so told the Loam Team the model number and they found the appropriate pads for me. However, they went the extra mile and queried whether the rotors were organic-resin-specific? Indeed they were. Great save!. Installed and they were great! Thanks Loam Goat.
Why e-bikes are shipped with resin pads is beyond me. I replaced them with these fantastic pads from Loam Goat. These things provide excellent bite and modulation with the Ice Tech rotors, with no fade and no squeaking unless they get really wet. NOTE: if you're ordering these pads for your Shimano brakes, the rotors can't say "Resin pads only" - you can't use these pads unless you upgrade your rotors.
