Where Lewis actually wins

Second cheapest of ten. The only one with three adjustments.

We put the LHP+ U4 against nine other four piston brakes on one consistent basis: front brake, no adaptor, with the rotor weighed separately. Lewis is not the lightest, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What it is, is the only brake here where you can tune reach, bite point and lever ratio, at a price that undercuts almost everything in the table.

Front brake without adaptor; rotor weighed separately; system weight is the two added together. Prices USD at list. Lewis LHP+ U4 shown at its US list price, not the Canadian sale price above.

What reviewers found

“The Lewis LHT Ultimates are no joke. After conducting a proper pad brake-in, I had full confidence in the LHT Ultimate brakes.”

Matt Beer · Pinkbike · Feb 2024

“I never once asked for more braking power. On the trail, the LHP+ brakes have been extremely powerful and consistent.”

Deniz Merdano · NSMB long term review · Oct 2025

The LHT has also been raced by the Intense Factory Racing downhill team.

The part nobody asks until it matters

Snap a lever and you order a lever, not a brake.

This is the real difference between buying a Lewis from us and buying one direct from overseas. Every part is sold separately and we stock them here. As this page was written there were 49 Lewis spare parts on the shelf in Canada: lever blades, complete lever assemblies, service kits, reservoir caps, diaphragms, bleed screws, pad retaining bolts, master cylinder pistons, hose and hose barbs.

Rotor check

Lewis recommend a 2.0mm to 2.5mm thick rotor. Both of theirs are below, and every size is in stock.

Pads

TP-37, TP-40 and EP-44 sintered at $29, VP-44 carbon ceramic at $41. All in stock, and you keep buying them from us.

Fluid

Mineral oil, the same as Shimano. No DOT handling, no paint damage, and our bleed kit fits.

Fitment

Standard post mount, 6 bolt rotors. Not sure what adapters you need? Reply to the email or hit the chat and we will spec it.

Rotors

Lewis recommend 2.0mm to 2.5mm. Both of theirs sit in that range.

Rotors are not part of the sale, but a brake is only as good as the disc you bolt behind it, and a thin worn rotor is the usual reason a new set feels disappointing. Both of these are 6 bolt and in stock in every size.

The questions we actually get

Do I need a code for the 15%?

No. The sale price is already on every set we have in stock. The free pads are the only thing you have to do anything about: put a set in the cart alongside the brakes and they come off at zero at checkout.

They are made in China. Is that a problem?

They are, and we are not going to dance around it. The precision CNC supply chain most of the bike industry quietly runs on is in China, and Lewis sits inside it making their own calipers, levers and master cylinders instead of outsourcing them. That is why a brake finished to this standard does not carry a European boutique price tag.

Can I fit them myself?

They arrive pre-bled, so if the hose lengths suit your frame it is a bolt-on job. If they do not, you are shortening a hose and re-bleeding, which is a bigger job than a pad swap. We stock the bleed kit and spare hose. If that is not your idea of a good evening, a shop will do it quickly.

Can I run a Lewis caliper on my Shimano lever?

No. They are sold as matched front and rear sets, and mixing hydraulics across brands causes lever feel and bleed problems. The warranty will not cover it either.

What if I change my mind?

You have 30 days to send a set back, as long as it has not been fitted to a bike. Once it has been on the bike, or once those 30 days are up, we cannot take it back, and you are on the three year Lewis warranty instead, which we handle here. Our 60 day ride-them-and-return guarantee is for pads, not brake sets.

What is not in the sale?

Special orders. The sale covers the sets we physically have on the shelf, which is every one listed above. Colours we do not stock, like the Nebula and Camo finishes and the U4T, stay at list price.
